Good Times in the Old Pueblo

Melody Walker & Jacob Groopman

The runners have been bouncing back and forth between Northern and Southern Arizona and enjoying the scenery in-between. This last month, we were fortunate enough to have played two gigs in Tucson, which is quickly becoming a favorite destination of ours. We were floored by the number of people who came out to watch and level of enthusiasm and participation during our shows.

One of my favorite RBR moments to date: standing on the Rialto stage and singing “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” along with 300 audience members at KXCI’s annual fundraising event—RBR participated by covering five songs from The Band’s Rock of Ages album. I have goosebumps just thinking about it.

Silver Thread Trio

Thank you to all who have come out to support RBR and other local musicians, both at the Rialto and Plush. And a humongous thanks, in particular, to the Silver Thread Trio and Melody Walker. It was such an honor, not to mention a blast, to be a part of such a killer line-up of musicians.

We’re looking forward to another trek down south this upcoming weekend for a band practice and video recording session in the Old Pueblo (keep an eye out for our promo video, which will premier via Kickstarter in just a few weeks). You may just find us sipping on a chai at Cartel, munching on a burrito at the Taco Shop, or possibly playing a few tunes on 4th Ave. Hope to run into a few friendly and familiar faces at some point.

Until next time,
